A STEM Eductaion Revolution for CMAss Middle School Students

About VEX  IQ Challenge

The VEX IQ Challenge is a robotics competition for elementary & middle school students (aged 8-14). Each year, VIQC participants design a robot to solve an engineering challenge presented in the form of game. These robots are built using the VEX IQ snap-together robotics construction platform.

The VEX IQ Challenge played on a 4’x8’ field. Two robots compete in the Teamwork Challenge as an alliance in 60 second long teamwork matches, working collaboratively to score points. Teams also compete in two additional challenges; The Robot Skills Challenge where one robot takes the field to score as many points as possible under driver control; The Programming Skills Challenge where one robot scores as many points as possible autonomously, without any driver inputs. Teams can also elect to participate in the STEM Research Project, an annual themed project that consists of a written or media presentation.
